The future of AI in marketing

When it comes to Data and Analytics, you need to move with the times. Ours is a fast-paced industry filled with innovation and investment, we truly are living in the Information age. To massively capitalise on the ever changing environment of Information Management, what can you do to stay in the know?
Networking is key, it’s always being bandied about as one of the most effective ways to increase your knowledge in any area. What does it actually mean though? If you’re in a position where you’re the only person in that department or team, your networking capabilities are being limited. Speaking with people that share your expertise and skill set is going to massively open up opportunities for learning. It’s a no-brainer but sharing ideas and experience with technologies, languages and projects will have you thinking in a way you may not have.
On a personal level, events and meetups are a great way to learn more about a broad range of sectors in Analytics. Recently there was a Data Science meetup in Central Manchester, and although I’ve been to a few already, I’m still amazed at the insight and knowledge learned from not only the presentation but speaking with the experts around the room that attend these events. There’s a great app called Meetup that has been gaining traction and publishes meetups for all manner of topics, Analytics being no exception.
It’s a prime reason why many of the people that I speak to are looking at moving into a new company. There’s nothing worse for advancing your career and knowledge than being with a company that has had you doing the same role with the same technology for the past 8 years. Not only does it stifle your personal and professional development, potential employers may see your skillset as less desirable and dynamic – keep in mind that to prove yourself to a potential employer you first need to pass the “CV Stage” and stand out from other candidates before having an opportunity to showcase your personality, work ethic and hunger for a new role.
