In this article Forrester Reseach evaluate the current market leaders in the the BI product market. In this they rate 12 leading product vendors on their current offering, their strategy and their market presence. They break these areas down into subsections and give each area a weighting to arrive at a final score.

It looks like the usual suspects, the mega vendors, are well represented here, so the likes of SAP, IBM and Oracle should be around a while longer yet. SAS are performing very well, outstripping everyone in their strategy, but should Microsoft rank as highly as they do?

And what of Qliktech? News from the trenches would show that they are performing better than shown here. Certainly, a number of our clients are using QlikView and getting excellent initial results with it.
