It’s almost that time of year, the shops are releasing their long-awaited TV ads, films are taking over the channels and Christmas songs are being played everywhere you go. As we start kitting the KDR office out for Christmas we wanted to know which Christmas songs make the team feel festive.

Take a look below for some of the Christmas songs that will be making an appearance in the office this year…

KDR Tree

Harry Potter theme tune

“…because I like Harry Potter and I watch them all over Christmas” – Mike

Carol of the Bells from Home Alone

“Home Alone is always on at Christmas so when I hear this song it reminds me of Christmas” – Hollie

Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen

“Although this is not a traditional Christmas song, Lily Allen covered this version for the John Lewis advert in 2013 and it is my favourite to date. It makes me cry every time!” – Georgia

Last Christmas – Wham!

“I don’t really like Christmas songs but this one reminds me of good times with family” – James

Killing in the Name – Rage Against the Machine

“I’m not the biggest fan of Christmas and seen as this song was Christmas number one a few years ago it has to be my favourite” – Gemma

I Won’t Be Home for Christmas – Blink 182

“It’s because this song is as much of a scrooge as me!” – Ethan

You’re a Mean One, Mr Grinch

“Any Christmas song with these lines in has to be a winner in my book: You're a three-decker sauerkraut and toadstool sandwich, with arsenic sauce”  Mark

Merry Christmas Everybody – Slade

“Really Christmassy song, good fun and it is a classic…” – Tom

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – Wizard

“Because it’s a classic!” – Max

Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band Aid 20

“No idea why, just love it!” – Steve

Snowman

“It’s a Christmas classic” – Ben

Fairytale of New York – The Pogues

“I like that it’s not your typical happy Christmas song” – Chris

“It really gets me in the Christmas spirit” – James

Driving Home for Christmas – Chris Rea

“It’s just so Christmassy…” – Craig

“We always used to listen to it on the way home after breaking up from school, and last year when we were flying home from New York on Christmas Eve” – Katie

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Andy Williams

“It’s the one song that makes me feel festive!” – Rob

Merry Christmas from everyone at KDR!

Great list! I love non-traditional Christmas music. Here's a playlist of some lesser-known Christmas songs: https://open.spotify.com/user/qaz23/playlist/22Hs4AlaOFExwI0cOEBHSj
