Working in data and analytics can be time consuming, you might not always have time to sit down and read the latest articles. That’s where podcasts come in useful, they don’t require you to sit in one place at a time you can be on the move, on your morning commute or even at home.

Although you might be busy, this is an ever changing industry and it is always important to keep up to date with new technologies and trends in data.

With that in mind here are our top 4 podcasts for those interested in the latest information management and data news.

  1. IBM Big Data Hub - podcast

Run by IBM this site is updated regularly with new podcasts. The podcast has stand-alone episodes as well as multiple series you can follow, such as ‘Finance in Focus’. The podcast is available for free, with the option to download as an MP3 so you don’t need internet access to listen.

  1. McKinsey on High Tech Podcasts

The podcast is produced by McKinsey & Company’s High Tech Practise. The podcast often features experts and leaders offering advice and opinion on high tech industry related topics. This podcast is available for free on iTunes.

  1. Data Skeptic - podcast

As the name suggests this podcast takes the view of the sceptic in data; it consists of longer and shorter episodes with a mix of interviews with experts and discussions surrounding data concepts. Again this podcast is free to listen to and a MP3 download is available.

  1. The Explainer: Big Data and Analytics

This is a single podcast done by Harvard Business Review. This podcast is great for those beginning in data as it discusses what the two terms, big data and analytics mean and how you can effectively use both of them. This podcast is free with Podcast Chart.

Extra Tip: Search Data Management – Data podcast

This one comes recommended by our own MD, Mark Dexter. This collection of podcasts is part of the TechTarget network; the podcasts include interviews with experts discussing data management trends, projects and technologies. This podcast is available for free online or as a download.
