We sent one of our fantastic resourcing specialists, Ben Dugdale, to take part in a Masterclass for Recruiters run by Greg Savage to find out what the future will hold for recruiters. Greg is a global recruitment leader that regularly speaks at recruitment conferences across the world.

As an early adopter of social media for recruitment, Greg is also an expert in all aspects of recruitment through digital communication – as demonstrated by his enormous network of 45K followers on twitter.

After the masterclass Ben said:

“It’s a really exciting time for the recruitment industry but recruiters need to be savvy to keep up. Being a “dinosaur recruiter” won’t get you anywhere in a candidate driven market like ours. It’s essential to take advantage of technology and modern candidate attraction tactics as the best talent isn't necessarily waiting on job boards.”

Using Social media efficiently will help recruiters find and attract the best talent but they have to be careful it’s not a distraction. For those truly focused on the job, the approach to modern recruitment needs to involve utilising all the available tools and technologies and digging deep to seek out the best people, not waiting for them to come to you.

At KDR our job is to find the most talented people in the Information Management industry for our clients and we know we need to do something different to find them. As well as using our own database and network of top professionals, we ensure that our recruiters have access to all of the best tools and technologies for the job.

It was great to hear we've already adopted many of Greg’s methods. By implementing an effective social media strategy we've seen tangible results with a growing number of our placements being passive talent.

With that said, in an increasingly social world the importance of picking up the phone will never be lost.
