Halloween is only a month off and we’re starting to get in the mood for it in the KDR office. Everyone has phobias that are pretty rational, but we probably all have ones that are not so normal. In the run up to Halloween we wanted to know what the KDR team’s weirdest phobias are…
Slugs (Molluscophobia)
“I have a phobia of slugs, specifically standing on a slug barefoot. No reason why, the thought it makes me want to vom!” – Mike
“They’re slippery, slimy, encased in a coat of mucus fat body, cold-blooded, horrible to look at and worse to touch – and all that before you even begin to consider their appetite and capacity for horticultural destruction. They get everywhere. Once one was on my door handle and I couldn’t get in my house. It’s fair to say I keep salt at hand at all times!” – Hollie
Dinosaurs (Deinophobia)
“I can’t explain why, it’s completely irrational considering they have been extinct for millions of years. The scariest film I’ve ever watched is Jurassic Park” – Gemma
Cliffs (Cremnophobia)
“I hate cliffs and other precipices – even high balconies. So much so that if I see someone near a cliff on TV I feel uneasy!” – Mark
Insects (Entomophobia)
“They make me feel on edge and make my skin crawl!” – Ben
Snakes (Ophidiophobia)
“They creep me out big time. I can’t even watch snakes on TV, they make my skin crawl. They are cold-blooded killers and don’t care what or who they attack. Hate them!” – Tom
Feet (Podophobia)
“They just creep me out!” – Max
Sweetcorn (??)
“No real reason, I just despise it!” – James
Responding to emails (??)
Chris didn’t tell us what his weirdest fear is so we can only assume…
What is your weirdest phobia? What is the strangest phobia you have heard of?
