My best interview advice…

As recruiters our job is to fill roles and find candidates their perfect job, but as part of that we provide advice on all aspects on the job hunt. Our recruiters are constantly prepping people for interviews as there are plenty of dos and don’ts but we want to know what their best interview advice is…

Go the extra mile

“Go that extra mile – research the company, research the role, and research the people you are interviewing with. If you are asked to do a demo or a presentation try to go over and above. It often comes down to who stand out above the rest!” – Mike

Do your research

“It is really important that you can demonstrate to the interviewer that you have taken the time and effort to research the company and that you understand the role. This will help you feel more relaxed and confident going into the interview and will enable you to ask and answer questions.” – Ben

Think

“Think about what you really want from a job and think of some searching questions about what is important to you. Remember that you are choosing a company as much as they are choosing you, if not more!” – Mark

Remember the basics

“My best interview advice is to actually do your research. The amount of times we get feedback for candidates where they have forgotten to research the company they are interviewing for is unbelievable. Don’t forget the basics!” – Amy

Sensible questions

“The best interview advice I can give is make sure you have prepared sensible questions to ask. Not only does this show you have thought about the role and prepared for the interview, but a few good questions can also show you are serious about wanting the job.” – Chris
