Lead Data Engineer | Manchester | £65,000 – £75,000 per year  

Are you a skilled Data Engineer/Developer looking for a pure cloud-native environment? Have you built Machine Learning models? Want to get your hands on the latest Azure stack to include Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure Data Lake & Data Factory?

You will be working with an extremely well-funded FinTech organisation who are building a data environment for the now & future. Decisioning within the business is driven by data and the Data Engineering function plays a crucial role in bringing that information to the business at speed!

The role:

• You will be responsible for delivering high-quality data pipeline solutions in Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory
• Utilising Databricks for extractions
• Developing solutions in line with the needs of the Decision Science & Analytics function
• Strong Python – there are no SSIS or SSRS requirements, everything is built on the cloud
• Although a lead role, you will have no direct management, this is a hands-on role with mentoring, but you will have the future option to pick management or hands-on role

Desirable skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python/PySpark with proven Data Engineering/Data Science experience.
• Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
• Manage the application of the Decision Science techniques: creating and maintaining models
• Understanding of structured and unstructured data sources
• A ‘go-getter’ personality, working in a scaling business is not for everyone
• Growth mindset, good communications skills

Please note, the client is flexible on seeing candidates from an AWS or GCP background.
