Head of Data | London | £85,000 – £90,000 per year 

Are you interested in leading and building a data capability for one of the UK’s leaders in social services?

This is not your typical non-profit… You will lead an established data function that is utilising modern data approaches and is constantly looking to push forward into the modern era of data!

The role

The Head of Data will drive forward all data strategies and projects across the business, taking on responsibility for data strategy and delivery.

Inherit, manage and build on the team of 15+ data professionals within the data function.

You’ll ensure that the enterprise covers industry-leading Insight and Analytics built on firm Data Security, Governance, Quality, Analytics, and Data Science.

You will that the data architecture is secure and fit for the purposes of the organisation and that high-quality data outputs are produced for business consumption, ensuring that the data architecture is compliant with any data regulations.

You will be responsible for implementing a Big data platform that enables a best-of-breed approach to business insight and analytics. The platform will include technologies not limited to Graph databases, No SQL, DevOps, Low code app development, and Open data.

Take responsibility for defining and implementing the data aspects of the technology strategy, including data lake capability, master data management, business intelligence, and analytics.

The experience you’ll need

  • Proven competency in managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to implement a new Data Architecture, through Cutting edge BI solutions, Data Science, and an underlying data model.
  • Background in Analytics, Insight, and delivering performance monitoring in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge and up-to-date understanding of Data lake technology.
  • Solid understanding of data governance & data quality concepts; experience in managing, controlling, reporting data quality and integrity.
  • Detailed knowledge of how Master Data Management principles and technology enhance big data frameworks and enable flexible open data.
