Why are we hiring?

Following changes to the structure of the Operations Change Department, we have created a new post responsible for extracting meaning from and interpreting data using tools and methods from statistics, operational research and machine learning to draw insights from the data and communicate the findings to answer the business questions in a clear and easily understandable manner. 

What you will be doing:

You will work collaboratively with all teams to raise the awareness on how data science capabilities can be leveraged to understand our customers better, improve processes, manage risk etc. You will actively participate in designing the models (predictive, segmentation that transform raw data into actionable insights. You will use your expertise in data visualisation and storytelling to communicate your findings.

Your expertise in the data science space will enable you to determine what are the best machine learning techniques / algorithms that could be utilised to interrogate the data. You’ll need to know how to formulate the hypothesis for answering the business question, selecting the appropriate data / features, validating and scoring the models and communicating the findings. You’ll be working with all data types ranging from structured to unstructured including internet of things data. 

Where you will work:

An environment where you will be given the flexibility to work your own hours so long as you are getting the work done. We have offices located all over London and will allow you to work from the nearest location to make life as easy as possible for you.

The skills you’ll need:

  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience working as a Data Scientist 
  • Ability to determine what are the best machine learning techniques / algorithms we can use.
  • Modelling – analytical, Predictive and optimisation models
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Experience with statistical packages – SPSS, SAS, R etc. 
  • Business Intelligence & data Analytics experience
