As the Data Engineer (£40K-£60K) your role will be mostly be focused on the ETL and Reporting aspects of my clients BI and Data Warehousing stack. You will be working closely to the data analysts and will have the opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge in this area.

You main focus will be to design data structures, develop and automate ETL processes to integrate multiple data sources into a consolidated data store to facilitate reporting, and develop reports and dashboard to serve the entire company.
As a Data Engineer you will be part of a talented team of Software Engineers, who constantly strive to evolve the business intelligence infrastructure.

You will:

  • Work closely with the business to capture requirements
  • Work closely with the development team to fully understand our client’s data infrastructure
  • Design and develop business-critical reports and dashboards
  • Design and develop the required data structures and ETL to support these reports.
  • Introduce new tools to improve the reporting capabilities of the team
  • Automate routing tasks and data quality checks
  • Monitor the performance of the reporting infrastructure and take the required corrective actions

You will operate in a challenging but rewarding environment, in which each individual contribution is welcome and valued. This role will involve regular interaction with our business users, up to a senior level. You will be given full autonomy to develop these relationships.


  • Hands-on experience with databases and reporting tools (Our client uses Tableau, Redshift and PostgreSQL but any tech will be considered)
  • Experience of ETL development (SSIS, Informatica, Pentaho Data Integration)
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in data warehousing and ETL concepts, tools and best practices
  • Some exposure in data science would be beneficial but not strictly required
  • Knowledge of Big Data Analytics and real-time reporting platforms a plus (Our client uses Spark)
