My client is a Multinational Software Company who is looking for an Analytics Consultant to join a fast-growing team in London and work on a wide variety of projects across predictive modelling, optimisation and big data using the latest tools and techniques.

The position will focus on Optimisation to support the growth of analytics offerings to Clients within Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and some projects may require time spent on client site, so you should be willing to travel when required. The position will involve working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high quality, end-to-end analytical solutions that create strong business impact.  

What you will be doing:

  • Design and develop optimisation solutions to solve business problems across different industries including auto, financial services, retail, insurance, manufacturing, utilities. 
  • Build mathematical optimisation models using linear programming, mixed integer programming, nonlinear programming, constraint programming, and hybrid techniques.
  • Implement and deploy mathematical predictive and optimisation models, integrating them with the client’s systems and data.
  • Design and create user-friendly GUIs, reports, and data visualisations to facilitate the execution of data-driven optimisation models and scenario comparisons by the end user.
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of applying mathematical optimisation to real business problems.
  • Provide consulting support to customers for interpretation and effective usage of optimisation models.
  • Work simultaneously on a number of different projects of varying complexity and length.
  • Lead and proactively manage the successful delivery of optimisation projects to clients across EMEA, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to increase client satisfaction and maximise revenue, while continuing to be hands-on. 

Skills you will have: 

  • PhD or Master’s degree in operational research, management science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or similar technical field.  
  • Hands-on experience with mathematical optimisation software such as Gurobi, Fico Xpress Optimisation Suite, and/or IBM CPLEX.
  • Experience with model development platforms such as AIMMS, Xpress-Mosel, AMPL, OPL, MPL, GAMS, Concert, etc.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++/C#, Java, Python, PHP, Matlab
  • Experience in writing database SQL queries.
  • Experience in defining and designing solution architecture and technical infrastructure for implementation.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, especially in the area of optimisation.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex concepts and describe technical material to non-technical users. 
  • Ability to work on a number of different projects simultaneously, of varying complexity and length.
