Test Analyst | Wrexham | Hybrid 2 days office | £28,000 – £34,000 per year

As a Test Analyst you will be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, suites and cases, coordinating the test effort across our different products and platforms utilising the best test methods as appropriate.

You’ll need to communicate any problems identified with features across the system to key stakeholders. You’ll write test cases to identify bugs as well as conduct exploratory testing to evaluate functionality of the products. You’ll develop and evaluate the output of automated testing systems where appropriate.

Skills / Traits

• Experience of testing web, desktop and/or mobile software
• Understanding of Agile software development life cycle methodologies
• Knowledge of test processes and techniques
• Ability to prioritise effectively based on project demands and risk
• Experience of working collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical colleagues
• An organised and methodical approach and calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining test cases and suites across different products
• Identifying the test basis, conditions and expected results for test cases
• Functional and non-functional manual testing at system and UAT levels
• Automated testing where appropriate
• Supporting test efforts across multiple products
• Working closely with software developers and product teams and proactively develop effective relationships with them
• Writing bug reports
• Maintaining bug triage to ensure items are correctly prioritised/risk assessed
• Working towards departmental and project deadlines
• Providing objective feedback to software development and business user teams
• Implementing and maintain suitable regression tests

Knowledge / Experience

• Experience of testing web, desktop and/or mobile software
• Ability to write clear test conditions and cases
• Knowledge of manual test techniques
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies
• Ability to prioritise based on project deadlines and risk

It would be beneficial but not necessary if you have:

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps
• Experience of testing in an Agile environment
• Knowledge or understanding of ITIL
• ISTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level
• Experience using automated testing
