Head of Analytics – Reading

Head of Analytics | Reading | £80,000 – £100,000 per year

It’s a grey rainy day in England, and to make things worse, the CDO won’t invest in your business case to bring outdated, Excel-based reports into the 21st century, amongst other ideas you’ve put forward to the board to make better use of your current company’s Data.

If this sounds familiar and you want to work autonomously in an environment of change, with genuine scope to progress your Analytics career as a senior manager, read on.

What’s on offer?

An opportunity to work for a company that really do make their business decisions backed by their Data. You’ll work amongst an established team of 50 other, Data professionals with their own areas of specialism, such as Data Integration, Data Science, Data/Dev Ops, Data Architecture & Data Analysis & Insight – your new department. Here, you’ll own the Data literacy programme, amongst other high-profile tasks within the Data Leadership team.

What you’ll need:

◼️ You’re a true advocate of Data, someone who’s chosen to specialise in engaging with stakeholders in your previous Data roles rather than purely focusing on the technical side of Data. This is more important than having implemented specific tools/technology.

◼️ Team management experience; you’ll inherit a team of 7 Analysts with varying responsibilities across the group. You’ll support, mentor, and grow this team. You should be someone who loves managing a team rather than a manager who does it because it’s part of the job.

◼️ Some familiarity with Advanced Analytics/Data Science techniques; your role won’t be limited to managing a team who churn out reports, you’ll have access to other areas of the business to do exciting things with Data with different tools/technology for the benefit of the business.

◼️ Proactive in managing relationships with key stakeholders in various business areas whilst learning their objectives.

What to expect in return?

Expect flexible working hours, a hybrid WFH/office policy, a laptop, phone and a car allowance worth £6k, a bonus of up to 20%, plus more.

Team builds & days out are also the norm here.
