What is Data Science?
People who are hired as Data Scientists use data sets to help predict or inform a future decision. The discipline differs from other statistical occupations in that Data Scientists tend to look forward whereas other jobs tend to focus on explaining a current or past situation to help inform business decisions. Data Scientists are able help predict outcomes via machine learning algorithms to identify the occurrence of a particular event in the future. A Data Science project will often go through a series of phases from discovery, data preparation, model planning and building, operations and communication and presentation of results.
